What is FIX-API ?
Foreign Information Exchange (FIX) API is set of rules and regulations which is designed specifically for electronic transfer for financial data. FIX API in simple terms is “Electronic communications protocols for real time information exchange”. FIX API enhances the data flow of real time data transfer between market participants.FIX API is mostly used by liquidity providers ( LP ), traders, regulators while trading.
FIX API manages 3 types of data:
Pre-Trade
Pre-Trade information includes market flow and trade strategies. This includes the levels of liquidity provided, market flow and depth market strategies acquired directly from market servers or exchange.
Trade
Trade related information for trade conducting events. This includes Order entry, confirmation and
execution function related data.
Post Trade
Post trade data involves in recording, processing and transfer of assets ownership involved in market-based
trade and transaction.
